Covid-19 Patient Safety Information

We have taken necessary measures to keep both you and our team safe from Covid-19 infection.

Patient Pre-Screening

Before your appointment you will be sent a questionnaire and be asked regarding Covid-19 symptoms and risk group.

Temperature Checks

To save you having to travel to see a dentist we will be offering telephone consultations.

Arrive On Time

We appreciate if you arrive on time as you will be escorted directly to your treatment room.

Emergency Appointments Prioritised

We will triage you to make sure the most urgent are seen first. Please come alone to your appointment unless you need a parent or guardian as a chaperone.

Social Distancing

Social distancing will be enforced everywhere except treatment rooms. We will be staggering appointments to minimise the number of people in our practice at any one time.

Team PPE

Brandhall Dental team will wear masks/gloves and face shields at all times.

Telephone Consultations

To save you having to travel to see a dentist we will be offering telephone consultations.

Hand Sanitiser

On entering the building you will be asked to sanitise your hands and put on vinyl gloves and use a pre-treatment mouthwash.

Contactless Payments

All payments will be contactless or pre-payment via telephone.

Practice Re-Opening Guide

We will be recommencing acute emergency and urgent care for our patients on the 8th of June.

This will be a phased opening only providing acute emergency dental treatment to patients who have been prioritised as most urgent thus ensuring the safety of our patients and team.

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and team.

Before attending the practice:

  • You will only be seen if you have updated your medical history the day before.
  • We will carry out a pre-attendance assessment on the phone.
  • We would recommend that patients in high-risk and extremely high-risk groups delay non-essential dental treatment for as long as possible until the trend of the pandemic becomes clear.
  • When travelling to the practice, we would recommend that you limit your close contact with other members of the public as far as possible. If you are able to drive or be driven and picked up by somebody with whom you live, this would be ideal. Alternatively, walk or cycle Brandhall Dental Care.
  • Please attend alone if possible (unless a child or vulnerable adult).
  • Try not to bring any unnecessary bags or belongings with you.
  • Please attend punctually at the time of your appointment. If you arrive too late for your appointment, we may not be able to see you. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
  • Visit the bathroom BEFORE coming to Brandhall Dental Care, as you will not have access to the usual toilet facilities.

Arriving at the practice:

  • Your temperature will be taken (contactless). Should this be above the normal range, then we will ask to re-schedule your appointment.
  • We will ask you to hand sanitise, pre-rinse with an anti-COVID disinfecting oral rinse for 30 seconds.
  • Our team is going to be wearing additional personal protective equipment (PPE). Rest assured, behind the mask, eyewear, face shield and gown are the same friendly people you have trusted with your dental care in the past.
  • Seating in the reception area is limited and has been arranged for your safety and so that it complies with the Government’s social distancing guidelines.
  • No cash payments will be accepted. Payment is accepted by credit card or debit card via telephone prior to the appointment.
  • All future appointments will be made and confirmed by email or telephone to limit your time spent at reception.

Despite the screen and enhanced PPE, you will still see our comforting smiling faces.
